Member Awards

Nominations for the Region I 2020* Member Awards must be submitted on the Awards Portal by March 1, 2019. If you are an Member Awards winner in your state, see your state below for next steps on submitting your nomination for the Region awards. If your state does not

State Member Awards

If your state used ACTE’s online submission process for its state awards program, then your nomination should already be on the Awards Portal and you do not need to restart your submission. To access your application, log in to the system on the left hand side. If you need access to make updates to your online application, contact your state awards coordinator. The following states use the Awards Portal for their state awards; the links below will take you to their state main pages:

If you are a state winner in Ohio or West Virginia, please select the award you won at the state level to submit your nomination online.

Ohio West Virginia

Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont do not participate in the Region I Awards. If you are a member from one of these states and have questions about ACTE's awards, contact ACTE staff at awards@acteonline.org

*Why am I submitting for the 2020 Member Awards? The ACTE awards naming convention is a year ahead. Candidates for the 2020 Excellence Awards will undergo their Region and national review in 2019, and national winners will be announced at ACTE’s CareerTech VISION 2019.


2019 Best in CTE Region I Awards

The Region I Policy Committee sponsors the Best in CTE Region I Awards annually recognize outstanding business partnerships, innovative programs, change agents, and distinguished service within the region. Nominations for the Best in CTE Region I Awards must be submitted on the Awards Portal by September 30, 2018. Winners will be announced March 2019 and recognized at the 2019 Region I Conference in April.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBER OF THE YEAR
This award is presented to recognize an advisory committee member that has made a contribution of significance to career and technical education in Region I.

Eligibility Criteria

The award is limited to advisory committee members for career and technical education programs in Region I

Region I includes: (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Federal Department of Education, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia)

INNOVATION CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION AWARD
This award is presented to recognize an innovative program that has made a significant contribution to career and technical education (CTE) within Region I.

Eligibility Criteria

The award is limited to innovative programs that have been established within the last three years.

The award is limited to members of a local school board within Region I.

Region I includes: (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Federal Department of Education, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia)

JIM HANNEMANN MEMORIAL AWARD
This award is presented to recognize individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of career and technical education (CTE) within Region I.

Eligibility Criteria

The award may be presented to persons who are currently serving or who have served on the ACTE Region I Policy Committee.  The individual may be any person who has rendered outstanding service to career and technical education within in Region I.

Region I includes: (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Federal Department of Education, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia)

OUTSTANDING BUSINESS/EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP AWARD
This award is to recognize a supportive partnership that has made a significant contribution to career and technical education in Region I.

The award is limited to business/educational partnerships that have been established to improve career and technical education in Region I.

Region I includes: (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Federal Department of Education, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia)

SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION AWARD
This award is presented to recognize an outstanding school board/member(s) that has made a significant contribution to career and technical education (CTE) within Region I.

The award is limited to members of a local school board within Region I.

Region I includes: (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Federal Department of Education, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia)

SCOTT WESTBROOK III HUMANITARIAN AWARD
This award was established in 1998 in honor of the late Scott Westbrook III.  Scott Westbrook exemplified humanitarianism career and technical education (CTE). This award is designed to recognize individuals who have demonstrated humanitarianism in CTE and within Region I.

This award may be presented to persons either in or outside the field of career and technical education and rendered outstanding service/demonstrated humanitrism within career and technical and Region I.
